The Weiss Wolves will take on the Elgin Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Weiss has three straight wins, Elgin has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Weiss was able to grind out a solid victory over East View, taking the game 6-3.
Jordynn Booe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Santos, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Milani Martinez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Elgin's offense. They came up short against Hendrickson on Tuesday, falling 15-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-1. As for Weiss, their record now sits at 15-2-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Weiss hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .407. However, it's not like Elgin struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Weiss' way against Elgin in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Weiss made off with a 12-3 win. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
