Two dominant forwards in Craig Rodgers and Aveon Williams are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Horizon Huskies and the Casa Grande Cougars will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Horizon is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Horizon suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-43 walloping at the hands of Desert Edge.
Horizon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gavin Henss, who scored 11 points, and Ryan Milner who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Casa Grande scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They managed a 71-67 win over Campo Verde. The victory was some much needed relief for Casa Grande as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Casa Grande, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
Horizon beat Casa Grande 72-65 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Casa Grande's Anthony Garcia, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Horizon to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
