The Coventry Comets pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northwest. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Coventry in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Comets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reggie Edwards, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Vic Singfield jr., who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Coventry were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Coventry has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Northwest, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coventry will take on the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairless is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
