Softball Recap: Marathon Wins Going Away Against Chequamegon

After only two runs in their last matchup, Marathon made sure to put some runs up on the board against Chequamegon on Tuesday. The Red Raiders were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Screaming Eagles. The Red Raiders haven't had any issues with the Screaming Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Allison Podjaski was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Podjaski was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Rehgan Martin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mayven Schneider, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

The win got Marathon back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marathon will host Rib Lake at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Chequamegon, they will square off against Ladysmith at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
