The St. John's Mavericks lost against the Lutheran South Academy Pioneers back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. St. John's received a tough blow as they fell 57-38 to Lutheran South Academy.
Lutheran South Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makynna Robbins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. The contest was Robbins' tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Annaliese De la pena, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
St. John's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Lutheran South Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
St. John's will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Bend Christian Academy at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Lutheran South Academy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Savio at 11:00 a.m. on December 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Savio is ranked 413th, while Lutheran South Academy is ranked 395th).
