Northwest Yeshiva posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They really took it to Pope John Paul II for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-39 victory at home.
Northwest Yeshiva's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joe Benoliel, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Benoliel is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sam Weichbrodt, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Auburn Adventist scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Varsity Opponent at home to the tune of 84-43. Auburn Adventist has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Auburn Adventist to victory, but perhaps none more so than John-Andrew Dubreuil, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dubreuil has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Ellis, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Northwest Yeshiva's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Auburn Adventist, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Northwest Yeshiva hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 56.7 points per game. It's a different story for Auburn Adventist, though, as they've been averaging only 71.2 points per game. The only thing between Northwest Yeshiva and another offensive beatdown is Auburn Adventist. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Northwest Yeshiva was dealt a bruising 80-52 defeat at the hands of Auburn Adventist when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Northwest Yeshiva avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
