It was a good run, but the Delphi Community Oracles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 66-54 to Tri-Central. Delphi Community was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tri-Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Delphi Community still got an impressive performance from Walker Jones, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. Jones is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Walter Gleason was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Tri-Central was led to victory by Drake Ramseyer and Stetson Newcom. Ramseyer scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Newcom scored 22 points along with five steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newcom has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Patz, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Delphi Community's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Tri-Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Delphi Community won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Tri-Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Frankton at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Frankton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Tri-Central likes a good challenge.
