After losing to the Russellville Panthers the last time they met, the Springfield Yellow Jackets decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Springfield claimed a resounding 68-38 victory over Russellville at home. With that win, Springfield brought their scoring average up to 51.5 points per game.
Springfield found their leader in underclassman Jalen Chapman, who scored 15 points. Seon Dowlen was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
The victory got Springfield back to even at 2-2. As for Russellville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Springfield will head out on the road to face off against Greenbrier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenbrier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Springfield is ranked 127th). As for Russellville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Monroe County at 7:00 p.m.
