The Cozad Haymakers entered their tilt with the Gothenburg Swedes with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cozad snuck past Gothenburg with a 46-41 victory on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Cozad, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cozad's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olliver Davis, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Davis also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Noah Shoemaker was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Cozad's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Gothenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
Cozad won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ogallala at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. One thing working in Ogallala's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Gothenburg, they will head out on the road to take on Valentine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Valentine focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
