The Vine Christian Academy Kings are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Vine Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against DME Academy Gold by a score of 68-57. Given Vine Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the are ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Hope Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to South Lake 77-71. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hope Academy in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
Hope Academy might have lost, but man, Dwayne Foreman III was a machine: he scored 30 points along with six assists and six steals. Foreman III has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Xavier Shine was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Vine Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Hope Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-10.
Everything came up roses for Vine Christian Academy against the Trojan Tigers in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 100-72 win.
