The Teague Lions suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 95-40 loss at the hands of Mexia. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Teague in their matchups with Mexia: they've now lost nine in a row.
Teague lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brayden Leija, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Leija pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jkybryen Harris was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Teague's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Mexia, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-10.
Teague will head out on the road to challenge Elkhart at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Elkhart is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Mexia, they will be playing at home against Buffalo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Buffalo is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
