Even though the Skyridge Falcons scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, the Tahoma Bears still came out on top. Tahoma came out on top in a nail-biter against Skyridge and snuck past 71-69. Given Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 20th in Washington, while Skyridge is ranked 62nd in Utah), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tahoma's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dalton Brown led the charge by scoring 20 points. The matchup was Brown's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Carter Stonerock was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Kohler, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The game was Kohler's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tate Larson, who scored 17 points.
Tahoma has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Skyridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Tahoma won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against San Tan Charter at 5:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Skyridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hesperia on December 30, 2023. Hesperia is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
