Basketball Recap: Deckerville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Deckerville had won two straight games and Logan Martin did his part to make it three on Friday. The Deckerville Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Akron-Fairgrove Vikings 70-23 thanks in part to Martin, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points and six boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Ian Flanigan was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took for 10 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.9% field goal percentage.

Deckerville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 34.1% in those games and 25.3% outside of them. As for Akron-Fairgrove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.

Deckerville has already played their next match, a 56-54 defeat against Brown City on the 3rd. As for Akron-Fairgrove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-39 win against Landmark Academy on the 4th.
