After three games on the road, Elkhorn South is heading back home. They will take on Elkhorn North at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Elkhorn South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
Elkhorn South only won by two when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point they dealt Burke on Saturday. Elkhorn South was the clear victor by a 72-52 margin over Burke. Given Elkhorn South's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Burke is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincoln Schwarz was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Aidan Skradis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Elkhorn North's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 63-46 to Norris. Elkhorn North has not had much luck with Norris recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Elkhorn South has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Elkhorn North, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
