Brunswick has gone a perfect 5-0 against Shaker Heights recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will look to defend their home field against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Brunswick came out on top against Ursuline on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Blue Devils took their contest against the Fighting Irish 10-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.
The team relied heavily on Madison Miller, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Nemec, who went 2-for-5 with two runs.
Brunswick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shaker Heights). Everything went their way against Cleveland Heights on Tuesday as they made off with a 22-2 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Molly Milligan and Eleanor Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Milligan got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Miller got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Milligan also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emerson Miller, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.
Shaker Heights' win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Brunswick, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Brunswick hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Shaker Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Brunswick's way against Shaker Heights in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Brunswick made off with a 10-1 victory. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
