The Calhoun County Cougars fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They put the hurt on Miller County with a sharp 54-30 victory on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Calhoun County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Zariyona Williams and Hannah Cratic certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Williams scored 17 points along with six rebounds, while Cratic scored six points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Calhoun County's victory bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Miller County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
Calhoun County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Miller County, they will head out on the road to challenge Seminole County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Miller County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 451st, while Seminole County is ranked 222nd).
