The Holy Spirit Spartans entered their tilt with the Immaculata Spartans with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Holy Spirit skirted past Immaculata 36-33. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Immaculata saw an underclassman step up: Mason Geis threw for 295 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt. Owen Blum was another key contributor, picking up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Holy Spirit's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.7 points per game. As for Immaculata, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Holy Spirit will square off against Red Bank Catholic at TBD on Friday. Red Bank Catholic is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. As for Immaculata, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Cross at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Holy Cross will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Immaculata is ranked 64th).
