Hillsdale is a perfect 10-0 against Rittman since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Falcons will square off against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Hillsdale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Hillsdale fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Ontario on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 10-9. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Aiden Hoffman was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Rittman never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Lincoln West 16-0. Considering the Indians have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Christian DuBiel made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Rittman got a massive performance out of Joey Schimpf, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Caleb Smith, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Rittman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for Rittman and bumps their season record up to 7-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Hillsdale, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Hillsdale took their win against Rittman in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
