On Thursday, El Dorado Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-41 to Heartland.
Diego Martinez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds for Heartland. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Stone, who scored 13 points.
El Dorado Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Heartland, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Dorado Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christian Learning Center at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Heartland, they will be playing at home against Plaza Heights Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
