The Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels will head out on the road to square off against the Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Golden View Classical Academy will be strutting in after a win while Thomas MacLaren School will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Golden View Classical Academy has not done well against Clear Creek recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Golden View Classical Academy strolled past Clear Creek with points to spare, taking the game 40-21. The victory was some much needed relief for Golden View Classical Academy as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Golden View Classical Academy found their leader in underclassman Zoe Jones, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jones scored 15 or more points. Annie Kuck was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Thomas MacLaren School's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 82-12 loss at the hands of Peyton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Thomas MacLaren School has scored all season.
Golden View Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Thomas MacLaren School, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Golden View Classical Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Thomas MacLaren School when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 35-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Golden View Classical Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
