Braedyn Pike made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
As for Rigby, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games.
On Rigby's side, Kooper Steffler made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Steffler was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jayden Belnap and DJ Boudrero did most of the damage at the plate: Belnap got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Boudrero went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Kash Campbell was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Coming up, Thunder Ridge will be playing at home against Shelley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Russets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.95 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rigby, they will head out on the road to challenge Bonneville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bees have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
