Bret Harte is a perfect 3-0 against Big Valley Christian since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bullfrogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Bret Harte is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Bret Harte's last matchup with Linden could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Bullfrogs lost 12-5 to the Lions.
Rylee Banks was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mariah Colwell, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Big Valley Christian let Riverbank stack four runs on them in the second inning on Friday but luckily Big Valley Christian prevailed anyway. The Lions walked away with an 8-5 win over the Bruins. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Madyx Mitchell was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kailey Rivera was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Brynn MacWilliams was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Big Valley Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.
Bret Harte's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Big Valley Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bret Harte has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Big Valley Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bret Harte was able to grind out a solid victory over Big Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in March, winning 8-5. Do the Bullfrogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
