The New Site Royals had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Union and snuck past 51-49. This was a revenge game for New Site, as the team was forced to settle for a 56-24 defeat when these two played last Wednesday.
Chloe Chism was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ayla Stanley, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
New Site is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for East Union, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-6.
New Site will stay at home for another game and welcome O'Bannon at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully New Site is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Mississippi (they are ranked 88th, while O'Bannon is ranked 271st). East Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
