South Johnston is a perfect 7-0 against Fike since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans will host the Demons at 6:00 p.m. South Johnston will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
South Johnston gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on West Johnston with a sharp 7-1 win. Considering the Trojans have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ava Strickland made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

South Johnston's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fike, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Johnston has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Fike struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went South Johnston's way against Fike when the teams last played back in March, as South Johnston made off with a 24-3 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Demons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
