The Memorial Red Devils came into Thursday's contest having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 31-20 win over Lordstown on Thursday. The win was just what Memorial needed coming off of a 42-22 defeat in their prior match.
Memorial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yaleiska Diaz, who scored eight points along with six steals. Angeliz Diaz was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Memorial's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-18. As for Lordstown, their defeat was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-20.
Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 30-17 defeat vs. East Palestine on the 12th. Lordstown has also already played their next matchup, a 60-23 defeat against Mathews on the 12th.
