The Green Sea Floyds Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 34-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aynor. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Green Sea Floyds in their matchups with Aynor: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Green Sea Floyds saw an underclassman step up: Shantavia Hilliard scored 13 points. Janyrah Mccleod was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Aynor's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Terianna Richardson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That makes it five consecutive games in which Richardson has scored at least 25% of Aynor's points. Another player making a difference was Lainey Squires, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Green Sea Floyds has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Aynor, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Green Sea Floyds will challenge Hemingway at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hemingway comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Aynor, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manning at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manning is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
