Upper Lake hadn't done well against Clear Lake recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Cardinals. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Upper Lake and bumps their season record up to 5-8. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 8-11 Lower Lake and 7-8 Clear Lake. As for Clear Lake, they dropped their record down to 7-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Upper Lake will challenge Middletown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Clear Lake, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lower Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
