The Lighthouse HomeSchool Lions fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Veritas Classical Academy Lions on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Lions 62-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ty Merrill was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points for Veritas Classical Academy. Another player making a difference was Mercer Montgomery, who scored 13 points.
Lighthouse HomeSchool has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Veritas Classical Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lighthouse HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Deweyville at 12:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Veritas Classical Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against Hull-Daisetta at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hull-Daisetta is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
