Spring Hill had won ten straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 23-5 to make it 11. They put the hurt on the Pine Tree Pirates with a sharp 16-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Sarah Beall spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Peyton Dees and Lila Peters did most of the damage at the plate: Dees got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Peters got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Peters continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Aubreigh Whiddon was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Spring Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
As for Pine Tree, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. The loss was just more heartbreak for they, who fell 13-11 when the teams last met back in March of 2025.
On Pine Tree's side, Blair Schroeder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Dodson, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Spring Hill and Pine Tree should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Panthers will challenge Gilmer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (156 vs. 405). Meanwhile, Pine Tree (ranked 517th) will meet Chapel Hill (ranked 1088th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
