Dre Perez and Matt Novak provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Woodside Priory. The longest such play in Mission Trail (8 Man) this season, the connection resulted in 70 yards.
The Panthers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Trinity Christian, 58-22. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
The Warriors' dynamic duo of Perez and Novak proved tough for Doug Sargent's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Perez threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns and Novak had 154 yards receiving. Jacob Staedler helped Trinity Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for 32 yards.
James McDaniel was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 247 yards on 25 carries as the Panthers fell to the Panthers. Teammate Will Latta added to the ground attack by rushing for 74 yards.
Trayvon Hicks provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Stuart Hall topped Alma Heights Christian. He completed three passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 203 yards. Hicks' favorite target this week was Ethan Hankins, who caught three passes for 138 yards.
Vince Ko made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles fell to the Knights. The 6-foot-1 junior grabbed one sack.
Shaumbee Wright's team's Andrew Ducusin and Perez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Mission Trail (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Ducusin has thrown for 1067 yards this season, while Perez has 36 catches for 703 yards. Stuart Hall's Hicks leads the league in rushing yards with 923.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Alma Heights Christian takes on Pinewood. Mark Bermudez's team is currently in sixth, while the Panthers are in third.
Richard Robinson's team took down the Eagles 52-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hicks in the win.
