Last Friday, North Douglas narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Yoncalla 30-28. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Meanwhile, Mapleton took a serious blow against Lowell, falling 28-68. This makes it the second loss in a row for Mapleton.
North Douglas's victory lifted them to 4-2 while Mapleton's defeat dropped them down to 3-3. Mapleton have been dynamite on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 53.33 points per game. We'll see if North Douglas can find some way to disarm them.
