Lee County is 0-10 against Estill County since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Engineers at 6:00 p.m. Lee County knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Estill County likes a good challenge.
Lee County took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Owsley County with a sharp 22-6 victory. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Owls / Lady Owls recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Lee County got a great performance from Kerrigan Flinchum as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Flinchum a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Willow Tipton was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Samantha Davis was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Estill County's offense. They came up short against Madison Central on Monday, falling 10-0.
Lee County's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Estill County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lee County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like Estill County struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lee County couldn't quite get it done against Estill County in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 3-0. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
