Even though Second Baptist University-Model scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Memorial Lutheran still came out on top. Memorial Lutheran secured a 61-56 W over the Eagles. With that win, Memorial Lutheran brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
David Porter was his usual excellent self, scoring 35 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Smith, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Living Stones Christian, who are still winless after their sixth match. Their tough 57-35 loss to Second Baptist University-Model on Monday might stick with them for a while.
Memorial Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Living Stones Christian, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
