The Brentwood Christian Bears lost against the Holy Cross Knights back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Brentwood Christian fell 50-40 to Holy Cross.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Tolliver, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Tolliver is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaniah Williams, who scored 13 points along with seven steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holy Cross to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiandra Cirlos, who scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cirlos has scored at least a third of Holy Cross' points. Emma Garcia was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Brentwood Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season. As for Holy Cross, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8.
Brentwood Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-37 loss vs. John Paul II on the 9th. Holy Cross has also already played their next contest, a 55-51 win against Hill Country Christian School of Austin on the 9th.
