Zac Richards looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chase Thomas was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. Michael Grimes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Rockville was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They lost 9-2 to Lyman Hall.
Ellington pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Rockville, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
