Pinnacle Classical Academy has gone 8-1 against Community Christian Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Pinnacle Classical Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.9 runs per game this season.
Community Christian Academy will be up against a hot Pinnacle Classical Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles never let Lake Lure Classical Academy get on the board and left with a 25-0 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Evie Hawkins was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Pinnacle Classical Academy let Anzlee Kilby and Maggie Gomez-Huffman run wild. Kilby went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and two doubles, while Gomez-Huffman went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three doubles. Those five stolen bases gave Kilby a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa McNeely, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Pinnacle Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .708. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Community Christian Academy lost 17-4 to Charity Christian last Thursday. The Warriors have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Pinnacle Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Community Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Pinnacle Classical Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Community Christian Academy when the teams last played back in March, winning 18-13. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
