Having just played yesterday, the Hebron Hawks will jump right back in to play the Walnut Grove Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hebron will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Walnut Grove is ranked 168th).
Hebron had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 59-55 W over Mansfield Summit on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, everything went Walnut Grove's way against Celina on Tuesday as Walnut Grove made off with a 54-30 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Walnut Grove.
Walnut Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Byron Scott led the charge by scoring 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Evanson, who scored 11 points along with 4 steals.
The victory got Hebron back to even at 5-5. As for Walnut Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
