The Tonasket Tigers's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 51-44 victory over Okanogan. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tonasket also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Tonasket got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tanner Tompkins out in front who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Kristian Jones, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Tonasket's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7. As for Okanogan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tonasket will take on Oroville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oroville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Tonasket is ranked 128th). As for Okanogan, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
