The Southmoore SaberCats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They took a 43-27 bruising from Muskogee. Southmoore was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Muskogee apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Muskogee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malaysia Burton, who scored 21 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Burton has scored at least a third of Muskogee's points. Another player making a difference was D'mya Brown, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Southmoore has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Muskogee, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
Southmoore will be playing in front of their home fans against Broken Arrow at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Broken Arrow focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Muskogee, they will head out on the road to challenge Bartlesville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Muskogee is coming into the game with seven straight victories on the road, meaning Bartlesville will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
