It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Miamisburg Vikings had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 34-14 margin over Hayes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Miamisburg.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miamisburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Conner Smith, who rushed for 152 yards on only ten carries. Smith really tore up the turf during one magnificent 88-yard run. Keith Henry and his 133 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Miamisburg's win.
Another reason for the win was Miamisburg's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Fletcher Rose and Peyton Hoskins who racked up four sacks between them.
Hayes' lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Austin Koslow, who picked up 176 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Jake Lowman, who threw for 298 yards and a touchdown.
Miamisburg's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Hayes, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Miamisburg will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Olentangy at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Olentangy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 206 points over their last five contests. Hayes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
