Cathedral Prep has gone a perfect 10-0 against Fort LeBoeuf recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Ramblers will head out to square off against the Bison at 4:00 p.m. Cathedral Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Cathedral Prep fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against General McLane on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Ramblers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Derick Friedman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Cathedral Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Fetzner, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Fort LeBoeuf hadn't beaten Warren on the road since April 29, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Bison put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 9-2 victory. The Bison not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 11, 2024 (when they won 10-0).
The team relied heavily on Ethan Bliley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nick Askins, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Fort LeBoeuf kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.
Cathedral Prep moved to 10-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Fort LeBoeuf, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.
Everything went Cathedral Prep's way against Fort LeBoeuf in their previous meeting back in April, as Cathedral Prep made off with a 13-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ramblers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
