Granite Hills has won 18 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Del Norte has won 18 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Eagles will host the Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Granite Hills made easy work of Valhalla and carried off a 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Luke Bailey made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Granite Hills got a big performance out of Trevor Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Smith has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Vance, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Meanwhile, Del Norte won against San Pasqual last Saturday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Tuesday. The Nighthawks' pitcher stepped up to hand Mt. Carmel a 6-0 shutout.
Not much got past Cole Hoffman, who gave up just a hit to keep Mt. Carmel off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Richie Moore, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aiden Sun, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Del Norte has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Granite Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 20-0-2.
Granite Hills beat Del Norte 4-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Nighthawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
