Basketball Recap: Anthony Caple Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Girard College

Mercy Career & Technical won the last time they faced Girard College and things went their way on Tuesday too. Mercy Career & Technical came out on top against the Girard College Cavaliers by a score of 46-36. The 46-point effort marked Mercy Career & Technical's lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mercy Career & Technical got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Caple out in front who posted 17 points. Caple's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Taji Stewart was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Girard College's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Rose, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Amadu Mansaray, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 17 points.

Mercy Career & Technical pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Girard College, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
