There's no place like home for the Booker Tornadoes, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 66-57 victory over Avon Park on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jovan Palavra was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamareon Ruffin, who scored 14 points.
Booker's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Avon Park, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Booker will take on DeSoto County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. DeSoto County comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Avon Park, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Lake Gibson at 8:00 p.m.
