On Thursday, Carver High School of Engineering & Science beat Central 63-50. Given Carver High School of Engineering & Science's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Central is ranked 570th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Samir Roberts-mouzon out in front who scored nine points along with three steals. Roberts-mouzon has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Anthony Brown was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for North Penn, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-45 loss to Council Rock South last Thursday.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for North Penn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
