The Round Valley Elks will head out on the road to take on the Kingman Academy Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Round Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Bisbee 13-5. Winning may never get old, but the Elks sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Carla Arreola made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Autum Webster and Ruth Wiltbank did most of the damage at the plate: Webster went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Wiltbank went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kelci Walker, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Round Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Kingman Academy faced off against Benson on Saturday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 11-5 victory. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Like Round Valley, Kingman Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Emily Mathys. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. Mathys was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kingman Academy let Taylee Mote and Ava Sanders run wild. Mote went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles, while Sanders went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Mote has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Sanders, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Kingman Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Round Valley, their record is now 18-6.
Both Round Valley and Kingman Academy just can't seem to miss. The Elks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Kingman Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Round Valley's way against Kingman Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as Round Valley made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Elks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
