Baseball Recap: Alexander's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Alexander came into Thursday's contest having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Federal Hocking Lancers a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. The Spartans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2024 (when they won 11-0).

Nick Jones was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Cameron Chiki, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Alexander's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Federal Hocking, their defeat was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.

Looking ahead, Alexander will head out on the road to take on River Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Federal Hocking, they will welcome Fisher Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
