The West Branch Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the North Star Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Branch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 204 points over their last five matchups.
West Branch can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Moshannon Valley 34-12.
Tyler Biggans continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 238 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt. West Branch also got help from Wyatt Schwiderske who showed off his sure hands for 118 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, North Star were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a serious blow against Berlin Brothersvalley, falling 35-6. North Star was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
West Branch's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Southern Huntingdon County and 1-8 Curwensville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35.6% over those games). As for North Star, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
West Branch ended up a good deal behind North Star in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, losing 39-20. Can West Branch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
