After flying high against the Berwick Panthers on Friday, the Lutcher Bulldogs came back down to earth. Lutcher ended up on the wrong side of a rough 71-51 walloping at the hands of Terrebonne on Saturday. Lutcher was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Terrebonne apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Terrebonne was led to victory by Rhanige Smith and Kylan Billiot. Smith scored 13 points along with seven assists, while Billiot dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Smith continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kavon Garner, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Lutcher has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Terrebonne, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Lutcher will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on De La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on January 9th. Terrebonne and Bourgeois will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bourgeois knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Terrebonne likes a good challenge.
