If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Northview. On Friday they take on North Putnam at 7:00 PM. North Putnam will need to watch out since Northview have now posted big point totals in their last five contests.
Last Friday, Northview put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Owen Valley to the tune of 70-0. Senior Mj Shelton was the offensive standout of the match for Northview, as he rushed for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, North Putnam ran circles around Cloverdale, and the extra yardage (481.2 yards vs. 276.1 yards) paid off. North Putnam took the contest and then some with a 49-14 win over Cloverdale. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-8.
Their wins bumped North Putnam to 4-1 and Northview to 5-0. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Northview and North Putnam will really light up the scoreboard.
